The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Media Relations (DMR) within the Office of Communications is in need Media Relations tools for use at CDC.
CDC has a need to obtain real-time listening and reporting on news, as well as a platform that will help it perform some basic media relations activities such as developing tailored media lists for specific media outreach and management of media materials distribution. The platform should provide real-time conversation, historical conversations, print and broadcast media, media topic trends, and analytics data across media outlets, channels and types.
CDC requires a primary social & news media listening and analytics tool that meets the following needs:
- Access to a consolidated comprehensive platform that can support news and media monitoring, media analysis, retroactive analysis and media research, as well as other insights into media coverage and trends.
- Provides real-time topic trends, analytics data across forums, and some social media/influencer information for CDC’s CIOs and Emergency Operation Center. Search online news media across sources globally. Ability to monitor broadcast (radio and TV) in all 210 DMA’s of the United States.
- Accurately monitors and tracks news & social conversations through various platforms identifying when conversations start, how they spread and what’s happening in real –time and historically.
- Allows simple keyword and advanced complex topic searches across the web that allow filtering by, geography, sub-keywords, language, audience segment and other cross-cutting methods.
- Measures how CDCs media content generates mentions and stories throughout media outlets.
- Provides detailed insights and analytics across multiple data sources from multiple media outlets.
