Chaplains Religious Enrichment Development Operation (CREDO) is a program sponsored by the United States Navy Chief of Chaplains that offers transformational retreat-based and non-retreat programs designed to strengthen the spiritual readiness, resilience, and relational health of Sailors and their families. Established in 1971, CREDO offers spiritual, personal, and relational growth opportunities to enhance the lives and service of participants. CREDO provides commanders a key resource to enhance both individual well-being and mission readiness.
CREDO programs are operationally focused, family supportive, and mission-aligned, providing standardized retreats that improve the interpersonal and relational intelligence of all Sailors.
CREDO retreats advance the Navy’s core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment by developing Sailors who are ethically and morally grounded, supportive of their families, spiritually ready, and sustained in their religious freedom and mission capability.
