Multiple Purpose Extractors 7.5/Omation 206 - Maintenance

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with OPEX Corporation, 305 Commerce Drive, Moorestown, NJ 08057, for the maintenance of threeOPEXMultiple Purpose Extractors, Model 7.5 and eight Omation 206 Letter Openers. This will be negotiated under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.106-1(b)(1), as the Contracting Officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. OPEX utilizes proprietary service diagnostic software covered by patents and copyrights that has not been released to any third party sources. SSA anticipates the award of a firm fixed price purchase order for the maintenance performance period of February 14, 2012 thru February 13, 2013 with an option for an additional year and performance to February 13, 2014. SSA shall issue a sole source award under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Responses to this notice should be submitted by January 12, 2012. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged.
