THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Program Office, PMA-201, Patuxent River, Maryland, intends to enter into sole source negotiations and subsequently award a firm fixed price modification under contract N0001924C0004 to Lockheed Martin Corporation, Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC), Archbald Pennsylvania. This modification will add Fiscal Year (FY)2027 and Option FY2028 production requirements of the Bomb Dummy Unit (BDU)-59C/B Laser Guided Training Round (LGTR) and associated containers. Contract modification award is anticipated for quarter 1 (Q1) of calendar year (CY)2027.
THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, responsible, interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice. The Government will consider all information received prior to the closing date of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for any responses received. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
GENERAL INFORMATION: LMMFC is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer for the BDU-59C/B LGTR and as such is the only company that has the requisite knowledge, production tooling, facilities and technical data necessary to meet this requirement. Subcontracting opportunities may be available and should be sought with LMMFC at the address: Lockheed Martin, 459 Kennedy Drive, Archbald, PA 18403-1527. There are no commitments by the Government to issue any solicitations, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract for the efforts mentioned above.
