The purpose of this funding opportunity is to advance efforts for a nationally integrated food regulatory system by assisting state egg regulatory programs to achieve and maintain full conformance with the Egg Regulatory Program Standards (ERPS). The ERPS Cooperative Agreement will provide funding for state egg regulatory programs to:
- Develop a plan to fully implement the Standards (ERPS) within five years of first receiving funding.
- Enhance egg regulatory programs to advance public health.
- Share egg regulatory inspection, compliance and enforcement, and laboratory information and data between states and the FDA.
- Improve the leveraging of state regulatory resources and direct regulatory activities to reduce egg-related illness, attributed to shell egg hazards in facilities that produce, process, pack, hold or transport shell eggs and materials/supplies.
